The U.S. Army’s Natick Contracting Division has awarded a sole source purchase to BioFire Defense, LLC.
The requirement is for the purchase of Joint Biological Agent Identification and Diagnostic System (JBAIDS) in vitro Diagnostic Influenza A&B Detection Kit and Influenza A Subtyping Detection Kit Instruction Booklets.
BioFire Defense is the owner and sole producer of the JBAIDS design package which are fielded biological agent diagnostic and detection systems cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for biological surveillance and diagnostic missions.
The award was made on behalf of the Joint Program Management office for Medical Countermeasure Systems (JPM MCS), part of the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD), and is valued at $121,463.58.
JPM MCS leads the effort to develop and acquire safe, effective, and innovative medical solutions and systems to combat chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats and emerging infectious diseases and to protect and preserve the lives of military joint operating forces.
