DESCRIPTION:The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) annual Industry Day 2019 conference on U.S. government medical countermeasures is planned for 15-16 October 2019 in Washington\, D.C. \nA component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR)\, BARDA will brief on program priorities and network with public and private sector colleagues on developing medical countermeasure or platform technology to combat chemical\, biological\, radiological\, or nuclear (CBRN) threats\, pandemic influenza or other emerging infectious diseases. \nThe Industry Day event will be held at Grand Hyatt and Washington Marriott at Metro Center in Washington\, DC. \nBARDA Industry Day brings together over >1\,000 participants to exchange information about the government’s public health needs\, and industry’s technologies\, capabilities\, and products that can fill those requirements. \nLightning Talks to showcase innovative discoveries and promote networking growth at the conference will be featured on the morning of October 16th. \nLightning Talks are intentionally designed to be brief\, energetic\, and full of information to pique the curiosity of industry and government colleagues and prospective partners. If you are interested in submitting a topic to present on behalf of yourself or your company\, please enter your information as requested and provide a brief (maximum 500 word) summary of your proposed presentation\, with optional 1 slide. \nLightning Talk applications must be received by 11:59 PM ET September 13\, 2019. SUMMARY:DARPA Proposers Day: Nucleic Acids On-Demand Worldwide (NOW)
DESCRIPTION:The Biological Technologies Office (BTO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will host a Proposers’ Day on October 28\, 2019 in Arlington\, Virginia. \nThe event will gather the planned proposer community in support of the Nucleic Acids On-Demand Worldwide (NOW) program\, which aims to develop a mobile medical countermeasure (MCM) manufacturing platform for use in stabilization and humanitarian operations to rapidly produce\, formulate\, and package hundreds of doses of nucleic acid therapeutics (DNA and/or RNA). \nThe Proposers Day will include brief overview presentations by government personnel\, an\ninformation session to respond to questions from participants\, “lightning” talks (three minutes\,\none PowerPoint slide)\, posters for potential proposers to highlight technical capabilities or to\npromote teaming\, and private sidebar meetings between the DARPA government team and\npotential proposer teams. \nParticipant presentations and sidebar meetings must be scheduled via the registration website. Lightning talk presentations will be made accessible to the proposer community on the NOW program website after presentation at the Proposers day. It is expected that NOW will require strong teaming efforts to successfully innovate and integrate critical technologies necessary to meet the metrics of the NOW program. \nAttendance at this event is not a requirement for submission of a proposal or selection for\nfunding. Information relayed during the Proposers Day will be made available on the BTO\nsection of the DARPA Opportunities page. \nAttendance is open to individuals who are U.S. Citizens\, U.S. Permanent Residents\, and Foreign Nationals. Upon entry to the physical meeting\, all attendees will be required to present valid\, Government-issued photo identification. \nREGISTER HERE.
