SUMMARY:National Toxicology Program Peer-Review Meeting on Effects of Sarin Exposure
DESCRIPTION:The National Toxicology Program will host a public webinar on 4 Feb 2019 to discuss the draft findings of a systematic review to evaluate the evidence for long-term neurological effects in humans and animals following acute exposure to sarin. \nSarin is a highly toxic organophosphorus nerve agent that was developed for chemical warfare during World War II and continues to be used as a weapon. Long-term neurological effects of acute exposure to sarin are not well characterized. \nRegistration is required for attendance and to present oral comments. The webcast is open to the public. \nLearn more: Long-Term Effects Following Acute Exposure to Sarin Nerve Agent

SUMMARY:Mass Drug Administration and Antimicrobial Resistance
DESCRIPTION:The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Antimicrobial Resistance Center\, together with the MARCH and Malaria Centres will jointly host the Mass Drug Administration and Antimicrobial Resistance Symposium on 20 February 2019 in London\, UK and by live stream. \nMass Drug Administration is an intervention proposed to reduce morbidity and mortality of entire populations. This symposium will bring together academics from a range of relevant disciplines to discuss the state of evidence\, and draw out a future integrated research agenda that addresses potential hurdles with this approach\, including concerns about antimicrobial resistance. \nPlease visit the LSHTM Antimicrobial Resistance Centre’s website for more information.
