DynPort Vaccine Co LLC, a GDIT company, is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to lead tasks in support of vaccine development projects for a biodefense program.

Responsibilities:
- Plays a central role in maintaining the very cohesive and high-functioning Project Team. In fulfilling this role, the DPM uses all of the tools in the project management toolbox—including earned value management—giving special attention to all of the soft skills that support effective communication, team cohesion and goodwill, and client understanding and satisfaction
- Manages subcontractors by working closely with the scientific Control Account Managers (CAMs) and the subcontracts administrator point of contact ensuring strong relationships and communication that yield maximum subcontractor performance; gives special attention to the timely scheduling of effective subcontractor kick-off meetings
- Leads proposal development efforts that support the timely execution of new scope, essential to maintaining project momentum towards product licensure
- Switches seamlessly between the routine (meeting minutes, variance analysis, status reports) and the complex (subcontractor negotiations, coordinating with CAMs, Integrated Master Schedule changes)
- All strategic and otherwise critical project decisions are made collectively by the Integrated Project Team (IPT) that includes the client and other stakeholders; supports the planning, preparation, execution, and documenting of these critical project meetings
- Manages the project requirements, ensuring that all deliverables are met with attention to quality and effective communications with the client and other stakeholders
- Supports all of the business aspects of the project, including corporate profitability, which hinges significantly on client satisfaction
- Creates and maintains the records and historical files that document IPT decisions in a fast paced, highly-complex environment
- Manages the development and maintenance of the project Integrated Master Schedule, Integrated Master Plans, monthly Contract Performance Reports, and Baseline Change requests
- Collaborates with the Risk Manager to identify risks, propose effective mitigations to the IPT, and prepare timely DVC proposals to get the mitigation action on contract
- Prepares reports for presentation at Overarching Integrated Product Team (OIPT) meetings and otherwise ensures effective communications with DVC, client, and stakeholder senior management
- Presents and communicates to Project teams, government client, and subcontractors
- Serves as Lead Project Manager as required
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- B.S./B.A. in the life sciences or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years combined technical and project management/coordination experience
- Experience with earned Value Management a plus
- PMP Certification preferred
Other Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with a working knowledge of the biological sciences and pharmaceutical product development (from concept to launch)
- Demonstrated successful experience working on complex, cross-functional project teams
- Computer skills, including MS Office and MS Project
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and exceptionally strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and able to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, dedicated, detail-oriented, and—above all—able to work side by side with talented scientific, business, and project experts
