Senior Biosurveillance Program Analyst to support the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Division Special Projects Cell’s Bio-Surveillance Hub and Portal (BSHP) project. The BSHP will serve as a central location for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data and findings related to potential health threats and enable the end users to monitor and detect infectious diseases and other biological threats, thus providing critical information that can inform timely response efforts.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Biosurveillance Analyst: $100K-$125K
Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Senior Biosurveillance Program Analyst Responsibilities Include:
- Support coordination and oversight of BSHP program-wide operations, including long-range planning, meeting coordination, calendar management, process development, task management, tracking deliverables and team synchronization with leadership priorities.
- Assist in coordinating responses to requests for information, including the development of talking points, meeting EXSUMs, and presentations for the BSHP team based on the needs of AFHSD clients, DoD leaders and other stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional verbal and written communications to senior officials across Defense Health Agency, the Department of Defense, interagency partners, congressional staff, senior leadership of industry partners, and allied nation representatives.
- Develop and maintain contacts and working relationships with executive level staffs and other organizations that are critical partners for the BSHP project including partners in Chem-Bio/CWMD and Intelligence communities
- Prepare and collect materials for presentations, meetings, conferences, and ceremonies for BSHP team and stakeholders as needed; serve as primary historian of BSHP activities including agendas, minutes, and presentation preparation for BSHP meetings and events.
- Provide consultative support on epidemiology, biostatistics, advanced analytics and on a wide variety of health surveillance questions on military-related populations to personnel within AFHSD, preventive medicine and public health professionals, key military leaders, policy leaders, and researchers throughout the DoD.
- Maintain awareness of infectious disease surveillance, biosurveillance, and biodefense activities, policies, and literature etc., external to AFHSD; ensure AFHSD priorities and initiatives are aligned with broader DoD and USG strategy.

Sr Biosurveillance Program Analyst Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Graduate degree in Public Heath, Epidemiology, or related field required; doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DO, DVM, DrPH, or related degree) preferred; minimum 8 years of experience in public health setting required.
- Managerial skills to oversee a staff public health professionals contracted to support Department of Defense client needs.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
- Background in infectious disease epidemiology and public health.
- Ability to lead projects and initiatives to provide data-related solutions.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Writing skills to generate reports, prepare briefings, and coherently present materials.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and able to collaborate with others.
- Strong medical and scientific papers writing and editing.
- Command of English language and can coherently present analytical results.
- Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain a secret clearance.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
