MRIGlobal Awarded Contract for Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Quality Assessment Program

Global Biodefense Notable ContractsThe National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has announced a new contract award in support of its Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) Quality Assessment program, known as the TBQA.

MRIGlobal was awarded the $13,704,858 contract to evaluate Mtb technologies and specimen processes to be used in NIAID-supported clinical investigations and disseminate TBQA technical and scientific data.

The company will help assess laboratories’ capabilities to accurately and reliably perform study-specific Mtb tests, and will advise and train lab and clinical site staff when deficiencies are identified.
