Lincoln Advanced Technologies LLC, an early stage Chicago area homeland security technology company, recently announced that it has received a Canadian patent for a new type of filtration material to be used in its protective respirator mask.
“H1N1 flu vaccine development and distribution took over six months. If the next outbreak is severe, we cannot afford to wait for months without effective protection, especially for first responders and medical workers” said a company spokesperson. “Our technology can be prepositioned and available on the first day of an outbreak to protect workers and their families. Our focus on having a pediatric size device and US based manufacture makes us unique.”
Lincoln Advanced Technologies, LLC is a privately owned early stage developer of personal biodefense systems. Lincoln’s primary technology is a reusable respirator mask to be used by first responders and critical infrastructure workers during a public health crisis caused by a biological weapon or a severe pandemic. Lincoln’s design, currently in prototype, was created with assistance from the University of Illinois, medical staff at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and Argonne National Laboratory.
