Johns Hopkins University will receive additional funding for work on a Phase 4 field study entitled ‘Why Healthcare Workers Catch the Flu’.
The contract from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is a continuation of collaborative work done with the CDC NIOSH National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) to measure influenza in the breathing zone of healthcare workers.
NIOSH determined that the large amount of data collected during the field study warrants further data analysis that will be summarized in a report or manuscript.
If it is determined that a final report is better suited for the data, the final report will be integrated into the inputs of the Control Banding Project, also being conducted by NIOSH.
