Health Security Notable Contracts

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has announced intentions award a sole source contract to Technology Management Company (TMC) to implement science engagements in Uzbekistan to promote biological safety and security of especially dangerous pathogens (EDPs).

TMC will provide the management and subject matter expertise to enhance partner country and regional capability to rapidly and accurately survey, detect, diagnose, and report biological terrorism and outbreaks of EDPs and diseases of security concern in accordance with international reporting requirements.

The contract period of performance is 36 months.

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) initiated the Cooperative Biological Engagement Program (CBEP) in Uzbekistan through DTRA/SCC-WMD to enhance the country’s capability to identify, consolidate, and secure EDPs in order to prevent the sale, theft, diversion, or accidental release of such pathogens.
