DARPA PROtein SEquencing (PROSE) Industry Day

On June 30, 2025, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will host the PROtein SEquencing (PROSE) Industry Day, a hybrid event taking place both in-person at the DARPA Conference Center in Arlington, VA, and online via Microsoft Teams from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET.
The PROSE Industry Day is an opportunity for researchers, technologists, and potential proposers from industry, academia, and government to engage directly with the DARPA program team and learn more about this ambitious biodefense initiative. The event will include overview presentations, lightning round talks, poster and networking sessions, and one-on-one breakout meetings with the Program Manager, Dr. John Hoffman.
Program Objectives and Goals:
- Introduce the vision and technical goals of the PROSE program.
- Facilitate teaming and collaboration among prospective proposers.
- Discuss intellectual property and data rights strategies for commercialization and long-term government access.
- Highlight the role of protein sequencing technologies in addressing biological warfare threats, synthetic biology risks, and biodefense gaps.
- Provide guidance for submitting strong proposals and engaging with DARPA through resources like DARPAConnect.
Who Should Attend:
Scientists, engineers, and innovators working in protein biochemistry, molecular sensing, microsystem integration, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, and biodefense. Attendees may represent small businesses, universities, defense contractors, biotech startups, and international research organizations (pending compliance with security protocols).
This event is unclassified and closed to the general public and media. Registration is required and space is limited: up to 176 in-person and 300 virtual attendees. Registration closes at 5:00 p.m. ET on June 23, 2025, or when capacity is reached. Poster and lightning round presentation submissions are due by June 26, 2025.
