The U.S. Air Force Material Command is requesting quotations for the acquisition of commercial off-the-shelf chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) equipment and accessories. The contracting effort is focused on equipment that directly detects, identifies, monitors, and protects individuals from the effects of CBRN contamination and enhances their capability to detect, identify and mitigate a CBRN or WMD incident.
The solicitation contains a list of specific equipment the Air Force currently has in the field, and requests quotations from “Brand Name or Equal” suppliers. Offerors believing their product to be equal to the brand names are requested to submit supporting documentation with their quotation to demonstrate product equivalency.
Brand name detection equipment on the list includes items from:
FLIR – chemical, biological and radiological sampling and detection systems
Smiths Detection – chemical, radiological, biological, explosives and narcotics detector systems
Quicksilver – CBRE sampling kits, wipes
Radeco – portable air sampling units and accessories
Inficon – person portable chemical detectors
Canberra – radiation detectors
SAIC – handheld radioactive isotope identifiers
Anachemia – chemical agent detectors
Aristatek – hazmat and CBRNE decision support software
Ortec – handheld radiation detectors
RAE Systems – radiation, toxic gas and oxygen monitors
Thermo Scientific – handheld spectrometers for material identification
Additional items for personal protection and equipment transport are also detailed in the solicitation.
The Government may issue a single Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) or multiple BPAs for the same or similar items to two or more contractors under this effort. Call orders against any BPA is not expected to exceed $300,000. The issuance of a BPA is not a guarantee of receipt of orders and can be cancelled at any time.
This acquisition is set-aside 100% for Total Small Business Set-Aside under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334519, with a size standard of 500 employees.
