Army RFI for Candidate Medical Products Using Nanotechnologies

by Global Biodefense Staff
June 24, 2013

The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity is soliciting on behalf of the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) information from organizations researching, developing, and offering biocompatible nanotechnologies that could be integrated with medical manikins, virtual reality simulation systems, or virtual environments.

Respondents are encouraged to provide information regarding existing leading-edge products, next generation prototypes, and future research plans involving nanotechnologies and consider how these technologies could be integrated into simulation systems for transmitting data; used as actuators; used as components for haptics; and used to represent tissue fluidics.

Even if not currently used in medical simulation systems, organizations offering nanotechnologies with the potential to be applied to these medical purposes are encouraged to respond.

Information will be reviewed pursuant to consideration for the development of future Requests for Proposals (RFP) or Program Announcements (PA) for development of products or areas of research identified in this RFI.

Further details are available under Solicitation Number: W81XWHCB2013. The deadline to respond is July 21, 2013.
