The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is sponsoring a Proposers’ Day next month to provide information on the objectives of an anticipated DSO Office-Wide Broad Agency Announcement (BAA).
The event will be held June 19-20, 2014 at the DARPA Conference Center in Arlington, Va. A webcast of the meeting will be broadcast for those who would like to participate remotely.
The mission of DSO is to identify and pursue high-risk/high-payoff research initiatives throughout a broad spectrum of science and engineering disciplines and to transform these initiatives into important, radically new military capabilities. In support of this mission, DSO is soliciting innovative research concepts of interest to defense and national security.
The anticipated DSO Office-wide BAA invites proposers to submit their basic or applied research concepts that describe approaches to making revolutionary improvements in one or more of the following technical areas:
- Fundamental Limits of Physical Phenomena
- Transformative Materials
- Materials Design Across Multiple Length Scales
- Underpinnings of Autonomy
- Novel Sensing and Detection Enabled by New Science
- Complexity and Uncertainty in systems
Participants must register to attend the Proposers’ Day through the registration website. Due to space limitations, in-person attendance will be limited to the first 150 registrants.
