Emergency Management Higher Education

16th Emergency Management Higher Education Symposium will be held June 2-5, 2014 at the FEMA Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
The event is primarily geared for representatives of colleges and universities which have an existing hazard, disaster, emergency management (EM) program in place or are attempting to develop and implement such a degree or certificate program.
This year’s topics include: status of accreditation in EM higher education programs; research standards for the discipline of EM; unique academic considerations for the EM discipline; and effectiveness of climate and weather forecast information in teaching and executing emergency management.
The symposium will be held at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, Maryland – about 75 miles northwest of Washington, DC.
