NIAID Small Business Workshop – Los Angeles

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) SBIR/STTR Small Business Workshop 2019 will take place 15-16 May 2019 in Los Angeles, California.
Biotechnology entrepreneurs, faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, and interested innovators starting a new enterprise can learn about NIH-supported entrepreneurship opportunities, writing successful grant applications, and NIH SBIR/STTR policies and regulations.
The purpose of this workshop is to prepare current and next-generation biomedical entrepreneurs to compete in NIAID’s (and other Federal) SBIR/STTR programs, and survey other resources for technology commercialization. Attendees will learn about career opportunities in biomedical entrepreneurship that are supported by the NIH, receive guidance for preparation of successful grant applications, and be updated on current NIH SBIR/STTR policies and regulations. We will also discuss SBIR/STTR opportunities for women-owned and socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses.
The agenda will include: an overview of the NIH SBIR/STTR programs, introductions to programs administered by NIAID, application review, award management, Venture Capital and other sources of Investment, SBIR/STTR grant/proposal writing, panel discussions, and one-on-one sessions with NIH Staff.
