The award is made under a firm fixed price, sole source, indefinite delivery and indefinite quantity contract with a maximum of $27,352,471.
The requirement is for assay reagents, sample purification/control kits and spare parts to support the Joint Biological Agent Identification System (JBAIDS). The system utilizes polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the surveillance and diagnosis of biological threats.
Organizations utilizing the equipment include the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Federal Civilian Agencies. The contract appropriation type is listed as FY12 Defense Working Capital funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa.
