The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Agency Division of Analytic Decision Support (BARDA/ADS) is seeking tools to support decision-making against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threat agents, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.
The solicitation calls for visual analytics, data informatics, models, and simulation tools to help better inform planners, communicate results to stakeholders and develop threat response plans.
Highlighted functional areas include:
Public Health and Medical Consequence Modeling – Perform medical and public health consequence modeling for CBRN agents and influenza, including components for unmitigated medical consequences, mitigated consequences, and modeling of conceptual public health responses, including concepts of operation
Advanced Applied Research and Development – Research and development of novel analytical, modeling and simulation methods, techniques and platforms that provide anticipated and direct utility to public health and medical consequence planning and response
Strategic Studies and Analysis – Provide analysis, recommendations, and studies on an ad-hoc basis to support the development of public health response and preparedness efforts for BARDA ADS
Operational Support – Provide onsite support and coordination of daily operations for the HHS modeling hub including administrative services, participation in federal workgroups, and development of technical information presentations
Technology Development and Systems Integration – Experience in computing and supporting technologies in visual analytics, data informatics, software development, and high-performance computing.
Multiple awards may be made under the effort. The period of performance will be for one base year with four option years. A formal Request for Proposals is anticipated to be released on April 15, 2013.
