The Emergency Services Coalition for Medical Preparedness is challenging all interested parties to help describe the next generation policies, procedures, products and operational plans required to protect personnel from chemical threat agents.
“The current state of protection from chemical and nerve agents is insufficient and puts emergency services personnel at risk. As a nation we are expecting our emergency services personnel to protect us without full protections for themselves,” states the announcement.
Proposals are now being accepted under the Coalition’s Chemical Protection Challenge (.pdf), which will award $5,000 for the best ideas.
The submission deadline is July 10, 2014. Further details are available at the Emergency Services Coalition for Medical Preparedness website.
