DoD Award to Battelle for CBRN Systems Support

by Global Biodefense Staff
July 15, 2015

The U.S. Army has announced a sole source award to Battelle Memorial Institute for continued support services through the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) contract and to provide technical and support services for the Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Detection Reconnaissance Protection and Decontamination Systems (DRPDS).

A ten month time extension to an existing bridge contract will provide support services for six months followed by a four month transition phase. This transition phase will provide support to a competitively awarded task order under the Joint Enterprise – Contractor Logistics and Services Support (JE-CLASS) effort and ensure the continuation of services and technical support.

Battelle will be responsible for providing personnel with the necessary mechanical and electrical knowledge and skills needed, and ensure that they are capable of installing, maintaining and sustaining the entire family of DRPDS Systems.

The period of performance will begin January 1, 2016. The support contract, executed on behalf of the Joint Project Manager for Nuclear Biological Chemical Contamination Avoidance (JPM NBC CA), covers both U.S. and overseas locations.
