The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has announced intentions to award a sole source contract to Cubic Defense Applications (CAI) for Foreign Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High Yield Explosives (CBRNE) exercise support and evaluation services.
The contract also specifically supports Nuclear Weapon Accident/Incident Exercises (NUWAIX).
CAI will provide subject matter experts (SME) to evaluate and improve the existing process and procedures required to respond to incidents involving nuclear weapons, nuclear reactors, improvised nuclear/radiological devices, radiological materials, chemical or biological agents and other Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) systems.
This effort provides the military Geographic Combatant Commanders’ a primary vehicle for assessing the effectiveness of their plans, policies, and procedures for their respective NUWAIX and Foreign CBRNE response programs, including prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery of a CBRNE-related event.
CAI has provided over ten years of evolutionary NUWAIX and Foreign CBRNE program engagements, coordination, capabilities analysis, and corresponding CBRNE Preparedness training within the CENTCOM, PACOM , EUCOM, AFRICOM, and SOUTHCOM AORs.
This latest contract is for a period of performance from July 2015 to July 2016 and is valued at $4.7M.
