November 9, 2015
CBEP Cooperative Biological Engagement Program

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) has issued a draft solicitation for scientific and technical partnerships to support the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Cooperative Biological Engagement Program (CBEP).

The contract seeks to build a long-term partnership between research and technical centers and CBEP partner country institutions for basic and translational research. The overall aim of the effort is to reduce the potential impact of biological threats through enhanced biological safety and security, awareness of biological risks, and knowledge related to biological pathogens.

Participating organization partnerships will be augmented with specialized training in areas such as:

  • Field Surveillance and Epidemiology Techniques
  • Sample Collection
  • Clinical and Laboratory Diagnostics
  • Biorisk Management

The U.S. Strategic Command Center for Combating Weapons and the Standing Joint Forces Headquarters for Elimination (DTRA/SCC-WMD/HQ-E) will host a Pre-solicitation Conference on Nov. 17-18, 2015 in Springfield, Va. to discuss the effort and receive feedback on the draft solicitation. Advance registration is required.

Further details are available via Solicitation Number: HDTRA1-16-R-0001.
