    CBRN Mask Leakage Test System Contract Award

    The U.S. Department of Defense has announced intentions to award a contract to Air Techniques International, Inc. for logistics support and maintenance of the Joint Services Mask Leakage Tester (JSMLT), a portable device capable of determining serviceability, proper fit and identifying defective components of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) protective masks.

    The proposed contract would fulfill the for contractor-provided maintenance (cleaning, replacing parts); repairs (cleaning, overhaul, repairing to Condition Code A); calibration; changes to training material and technical manual; packaging, storage and transportation; modifications and software upgrades; configuration status accounting; higher quality contract requirements; warranty; and item unique identification and radio frequency identification requirements as well as options for spare parts and accessories production for the systems and associated logistics support services.

    JSMLT is inter-operable with all fielded masks and capable of testing many Commercial Off-the-Shelf masks. The system is currently fielded to the US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, and US Air Force.

    The contract also support the government owned TDA-99B, a non-portable version of the JSMLT which used within the production facility for acceptance testing of field protective mask.

    The contract is managed by the Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground, CCAP-SCN, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the Joint Program Executive Office – Chemical Biological Defense, Joint Project Manager Protection (JPM P).
