The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Board on Life Sciences is seeking nominations of experts to help with a new workshop on Quantum Science Concepts in Enhancing Sensing and Imaging Technologies: Applications for Biology. This workshop will facilitate a better understanding of current and future applications of quantum-enabled sensing and imaging technologies on different fields of biology.
NASEM seeks nominations of experts to serve on the committee that will guide the organization and planning of the workshop. The workshop committee will plan talks, panels, and discussions with the goal of bringing together experts working on state-of-the-art quantum-enabled technologies, as well as groups of scientists interested in applying these technologies to biological systems. The workshop will provide insights on current and future biological uses of quantum-enabled sensing and imaging technologies.
NASEM is seeking 6 committee members from academia, government, industry, and other sectors, who are experts in fields related to this study. These fields include, but are not limited to:
- Quantum-enabled systems
- Biological imaging or sensing
- Quantum biology
- Biological physics
- Cell biology
- Molecular biology
- Microbiology
- Atomic, molecular, and optical physics
- Other relevant life, physical, and engineering fields
Nominations are due no later than Friday, October 30, 2020.
