2024 CBRNE Research & Innovation Conference

The 2024 CBRNE Research & Innovation International Conference will take place 19-21 March, 2024 in Strasbourg, France.

CBRNE R&I 2024 will gather stakeholders to discuss topics of CBRNE detection, protection, decontamination, depollution, medical countermeasures, diagnostic tools, epidemiology, forensic sciences, and risks & crisis management. Demonstrations are planned from the French & German Committee (including responders from the Fire Brigades, Emergency Medical Services, Police, Gendarmerie, bomb disposal experts) and scientists from the University of Strasbourg.

Highlighted workshops and sessions include:

• Tools to inform health personnel on the detection of highly contagious patients
• Biotoxins analysis (overview of the different exercises on this topic, discussion on the detection and identification method used by the participants of the round-table for on-site and off-site analysis, identify the gaps/needs, future works)
• On-site chemical detection : crossing the methods and tools to identify solids and liquids
• Gas and liquid effluents from lithium batteries : risks assessment
• Personal decontamination
• Protection: Are current test methods appropriate for evaluating protective clothing?
• Drug detection: detection and training issues
• Management of accidental pollutions and their consequences
• The action of canine teams in the face of the CBRNe threats
• Tox COM : gestural communication in the warm zone
• CBRN training in a virtual environment
• Pediatric CBRNE casualty care considerations
• Use of new technologies in the CBRNe threat assessment : robots and drones
• On-site radiological detection : limitations and innovations
• Education on human factors to improve the reliability of operations
