Antimicrobial Peptides 2015
May 3, 2015 - May 8, 2015
The 14th Gordon Research Conference on Antimicrobial Peptides will be held May 3-8, 2015 in Lucca, Italy.
Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are essential components of host defense against infections present in all domains of life. These peptides display marked activity against bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites. It has become increasingly clear that AMPs and structurally related peptides also possess functions distinct from this broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. These include realizations of roles in inflammation, immunity, wound healing and also fertility.
The conference is aimed at scientists from a diverse array of disciplines, including microbiology, biochemistry, animal and plant biology, medicine, immunology, cell biology and drug development.
Highlighted conference focus areas include:
- Regulation of Expression of Amps
- Microbial Mechanisms to Prevent the Cytotoxic Activity of Amps
- Role in Health and Disease
- Application of Amps as Therapeutics
- Opportunities for Use in Agriculture
- Opportunities for Use in Infection Control
Conference will be held in conjunction with the Antimicrobial Peptides Gordon Research Seminar. Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the seminar in addition to an application for the conference.
