Food Defense Conference 2014

The Food Defense Conference 2014 will take place September 15-16, 2014 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The conference is hosted by the National Center for Food Protection and Defense (NCFPD) and the theme this year is “Leading the Way to a Safe and Secure Food Supply.”
NCFPD has been at the forefront of food defense research, technology, and training for the past 10 years. Their extensive network of experts from around the world will be venturing to Minneapolis to discuss and learn from each other about the current state of food defense. Attendees will have 2 full days of sessions, networking, and workshops geared specifically at reducing the impact of food system attacks and catastrophic events.
Food Defense is the sum of actions and activities related to prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery of the food system from intentional acts of adulteration. This includes intentional adulteration from both terrorism and criminal activities. Criminal activities include economically motivated adulteration, as well as acts by disgruntled employees, consumers, or competitors intending to cause public health harm or business disruption.
