November 16, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am PST

Technologies for Pandemic Response

DARPA program manager Col. Matthew Hepburn will discuss and demonstrate several novel technologies for responding to pandemics during a seminar event at Georgetown University on November 16, 2018.

For sixty years, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) of the Department of Defense has held to a singular and enduring mission: to make pivotal investments in breakthrough technologies for national security. Central to that mission is ensuring health security for citizens of the United States and protecting the armed forces from biological threats.

Co-sponsored by Georgetown’s Center for Global Health Science and Security and the Global Health Initiative, this event is part of a series of speakers addressing critical issues in global health in an effort to promote greater dialogue regarding pandemic preparedness.

Prior to joining DARPA in 2013, Col. Hepburn served as the Director of Medical Preparedness on the White House National Security Staff.
