Meeting of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP)

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) will convene 28-29 February 2024 in Atlanta, GA and via webcast.

The ACIP develops recommendations for U.S. immunizations, including ages when vaccines should be given, number of doses, time between doses, and precautions and contraindications.

The agenda will include the following:

• Update on chikungunya vaccine licensure and review of proposed policy options for chikungunya vaccine use among U.S. adults traveling abroad, laboratory workers, and pregnant and breastfeeding persons
• Guidance to use Td vaccine for those instances when receipt of the pertussis component is contraindicated
• COVID-19 vaccination coverage, effectiveness and economic analysis of additional dose recommendations
• Next steps for the COVID-19 vaccine program
• Interim estimates of 2023-24 seasonal influenza vaccine effectiveness
• Safety of LAIV4 in children with asthma
• Influenza B/Yamagata update
• Polio Work Group deliberations on potential use of nOPV2 as an outbreak control measure in the US
• Clinical considerations for children who received fractional dose inactivated polio vaccine (fIPV) in other countries
• Post-marketing safety surveillance of older adult RSV vaccination
• Preliminary Analysis of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) following RSV vaccination among adults 65 years and older
• Overview of Moderna’s investigational RSV Vaccine (mRNA-1345) in adults ≥60 years of age
• Revising the adolescent Meningococcal vaccine schedule
• Current epidemiology of invasive pneumococcal disease and pneumococcal vaccine coverage in adults
• Preliminary findings of the Pneumococcal pNeumonia Epidemiology, Urine serotyping, and Mental Outcomes (PNEUMO) US study
• Background on invasive Hib disease and vaccination among American Indian and Alaska Native Populations

The meeting will be held on February 28, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., EST and February 29, 2024, from 8 a.m.
to 3 p.m., EST (times subject to change).
