TRB Webinar: Visualizing Effects of COVID-19 on Transportation: A One-Year Retrospective

The Transportation Research Board will host a Visualizing Effects of COVID-19 on Transportation: A One-Year Retrospective webinar on March 8, 2021 that will delve into the pandemic’s effect on transportation.

Presenters will discuss visualizations of where these impacts have been especially notable, including the drastic reduction in road and air traffic and in public transit ridership during early days of the pandemic. They will provide perspectives from the local, state, and international levels.

Highlighted presentations include:

  • Visualizing COVID-19 impacts on urban mobility: Kaan Ozbay, New York University
  • Visualizing COVID-19 impacts on state level-mobility: Michael Pack, University of Maryland
  • Visualizing COVID-19 impacts on air travel: Mark Duell, FlightAware
  • Question and answer session: Charles Lattimer, University of Maryland

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.

Professional Development Hour Information

Professional engineers (PEs) who register and attend the entire webinar as an individual will be awarded 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). TRB’s webinar program awards PDH credits only to the registered individual, and not to other members of a group that view the webinar together. To be eligible for the credits, individuals must remain signed in for the entire webinar, including for any question and answer session following the presentations.
