The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) this week announced Luminex Corp., Austin, Texas, was selected over 55 other proposals and is being awarded an $11,640,787 contract for the advancement of a portable biodetection system.
Luminex will develop a flexible and highly portable diagnostic instrument that will be capable of rapid detection of biothreat agents and host response biomarkers that are indicative of systemic disease.
Work will be performed in Austin, Texas, and is expected to be completed by January 2016. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract is awarded under HDTRA1-12-C-0072.
