AHMP 2014 National Conference

The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals AHMP 2014 National Conference will be held August 24-27, 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The AHMP 2014 National Conference is a valuable resource for education and networking, drawing more than 600 attendees 60+ exhibitors from environmental, health safety, waste management and security disciplines from across the country. Experience emerging trends, develop new skills and build a powerful community of colleagues at the AHMP 2014.
A special feature of the conference is a live Emergency Response Scenario to help participants correlate real-time examples with elements of the conference discussions. This year’s scenario is based on a 500 gallons oil spill on the shore line of a lake. The response will include boat response and boom deployment.
A walking tour of the Superdome led by Operations Manager, Chad Wilkens accompanied by the Chief of Public Safety, Donald Paisant will also be offered to participants. The tour will include discussions of emergency response planning for the facility, modifications since Katrina, and evacuation plans for the over 73,000 capacity venue.
Lt. General Russel L. Honoré (Ret.), Commander of Joint Task Force Katrina and Global Preparedness Authority will give the keynote closing address. Prior to his command of Joint Task Force-Katrina leading the Department of Defense response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana – General Honoré served in a variety of command and staff positions which focused on Defense Support to Civil Authorities and Homeland Defense, including Vice Director for Operations, J-3, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C., and, as the Commander, Standing Joint Force Headquarters-Homeland Security, United States Northern Command.
